SIREN/SIRET numbers – BCE and EU VAT numbers

In Belgium

BCE Company Number (10 digits)

The EU VAT number is: BE + company number (BCE)

Format: BE + 10 digits → e.g. BE0123456789

Where to find it:

  • On invoices and official documents

  • On the Crossroads Bank for Enterprises (BCE) → https://kbopub.economie.fgov.be

  • In your MyMinfin account (Federal Public Service Finance)


In France

The SIREN number (9 digits) is the company’s main registration number.

The SIRET number (14 digits) is composed of the SIREN + a 5-digit establishment code.

  • If your company has only one location, it has one SIREN and one SIRET number.

  • If there is a branch, the company has one SIREN and multiple SIRET numbers (one per establishment).

EU VAT number format:

FR + 2 characters + SIREN (9 digits) → e.g. FR45 123456789

Where to find it:

  • On invoices and accounting documents

  • In your professional account on impots.gouv.fr → VAT / My information (or on societe.com)

  • On your VAT registration certificate issued by the tax office (SIE)
